- 13/07/2010, MAN Diesel & Turbo to Supply Engines for Cruise Ferries
- MAN Diesel & Turbo continues to seek out opportunities in a difficult market and recently signed a supply contract with Norwegian shipbuilder, Bergen Group Fosen, in Rissa, Norway. Under the terms of the deal, MAN Diesel & Turbo will supply eight state-of-the-art, common-rail-based 10L32/44CR main engines, along with six L21/31 auxiliary generating-sets and four RENK gearboxes for two ferries to be operated by Fjord Line Danmark A/S, the Danish subsidiary of the Norwegian ferry company.

- MAN Diesel & Turbo’s first upgraded, twenty-cylinder 28/33D prototype engine recently passed a series of tests on the test bed at the company’s St. Nazaire, France works, and was awarded type approval by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) classification society.

- Navantia, the Spanish shipbuilder, recently completed the ‘José María Entrecanales’, a modern roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessel, at its Bahía de Cádiz facility in southwestern Spain. Built for Spanish shipping line, Acciona Transmediterránea, the ship is powered by four MAN 9L48/60B main engines and three MAN 8L21/31 auxiliary engines.
